Patricia Ann Eables graduated from Christian Brothers College, cum laude, and obtained her degree in business administration as she maintained a full-time job with a small general practice law firm in Arkansas. While working for this law firm, Patricia gained years of experience in numerous areas of the law in both state and federal courts prior to entering law school. Then as a Law Clerk and Assistant Pro Bono Coordinator for Central Arkansas Legal Services, Patricia assisted in cases involving family law, small claims, landlord/tenant disputes, civil matters, and other areas of the law through her work with the legal services clients and pro bono attorneys. Before moving to Key West in 1994, she had a judicial clerkship with State Circuit Court Judge John B. Plegge in Little Rock, Arkansas, with this Court hearing civil and criminal cases. This background aids in her practice with the firm in the areas of probate, civil and business litigation, Americans with Disabilities Act defense, product liability defense, property law, and appellate cases. Patricia currently serves as the Chairperson of the Historic Architecture Review Commission for Key West and previously served as the Chairperson of the Key West Planning Board. The experience on these Boards has afforded her the opportunity to become knowledgeable in the application process for renovation and development of property located within Key West. Patricia has developed a practice and successfully defended numerous businesses that have been sued for non-compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. Patricia currently represents the Key West Housing Authority in landlord/tenant matters, as well as private landlords in eviction and property matters. Patricia is very active in the community and donates her time to serve on numerous committees and boards in a range of areas concerning children, the practice of law, city issues, and various other interests. In 2004 Patricia was appointed by the Supreme Court of Florida to serve on the Sixteenth Judicial Circuit Unlicensed Practice of Law Committee and currently serves as the Chairperson. She is admitted to practice in Florida and Arkansas. .
